St. Margaret Mary's is offering an exciting opportunity for a classroom teacher to join our passionate & dynamic learning community. We are looking for a highly motivated teacher who is enthusiastic & committed to contributing to the School and team in a positive way. As an educator at St. Margaret Mary’s, the successful applicant will be responsible for providing a high-quality, inclusive education for students, encompassing academic, spiritual, wellbeing and personal growth. You will be responsible for utilising contemporary evidenced-informed learning and teaching strategies, skills and content knowledge, to deliver engaging and effective student centred lessons. Student voice and agency will be embedded in your classroom teaching and learning practices with the lens of Catholic values, teachings, and traditions weaved throughout the curriculum, classroom and school culture. You will be called to create an emotionally, physically, safe and optimistic learning environment; whilst fostering a strong sense of community and faith among the welcoming and engaged students, staff and family members of St. Margaret Mary’s Spotswood. The hidden gem of the west!

The successful applicant will have:

  • a strong commitment to Catholic Education and Catholic Identity
  • a willingness to be involved in the school and Parish Community
  • accreditation to teach Religious Education in a Catholic School or a willingness to complete accreditation
  • understanding of 'data driven' teaching
  • exemplary learning and teaching skills with the capacity and desire to share this knowledge in a professional, collaborative and collegial way
  • experience in using 'SeeSaw' as a reflection tool and a way of sharing learning
  • strong interpersonal and communication skills with the capacity to continue to build strong relationships with students, staff, parents and our Parish community
  • exemplary classroom management and teaching skills
  • a commitment to working collaboratively as part of a team
  • a commitment to ongoing personal and professional development
  • a strong understanding of contemporary learning and the Victorian Curriculum
  • relevant qualifications and abilities to teach at all levels
  • an understanding of AITSL standards and expectations of Professional Teachers.
