Committees

VCEA has a number of committees to support the work of the Board and ensure effective governance of VCEA’s operations.

VCEA Consultation Committee

To support the achievement of VCEA’s objectives and the work of the Board, a Consultation Committee has been established in line with the requirements in the VCEA Constitution.

The VCEA Consultation Committee acts as a consultative and advisory forum, to provide a voice for Catholic School proprietors in discussion about statewide issues concerning Catholic school education.  It provides advice and feedback to the VCEA Board on issues relating to Catholic school education in Victoria.

People and Employment Relations Committee

The People and Employment Relations Committee assists the VCEA Board fulfil both its responsibilities relating to the human resource and culture of VCEA, and its objects relating to enterprise bargaining and long service leave on behalf of Catholic school proprietors.

Review Body and Compliance Committee

The Review Body and Compliance Committee provides strategic advice and support to the Board in relation to VCEA’s role as the review body for Catholic schools approved by the Victorian Registration and Qualifications Authority.

Catholic Mission Committee

The Catholic Mission Committee is established to support the Board fulfil the VCEA’s objects to promote and deepen the Catholic identity of VCEA and of Catholic schools in Victoria, and to promote state-wide accreditation standards for Catholic schools.

Finance, Risk and Audit Committee

The Finance, Risk and Audit Committee has been established to be advisory to the VCEA Board in fulfilling its corporate governance and oversight responsibilities with respect to the accuracy and integrity of financial reporting, the effectiveness of the internal and external audit functions, and the effectiveness of the risk management and internal control frameworks.

Nominations Committee

The Nominations Committee oversees and monitors board performance, succession planning, director selection, director development and the company’s diversity policy.

Education and Performance Excellence Committee

The Education and Performance Excellence Committee is established to be advisory to the Board of VCEA in fulfilling its responsibilities with respect to education strategy, research, policy and to promote excellence in performance.
