About the role

Desired applicants will bring a sense of passion and innovation and possess the skills and abilities to promote high expectations for all, embrace a collaborative approach to learning and teaching, and demonstrate a commitment to the ongoing development of our learning community. The applicant will lead Year 5/6 Performing Arts within the school and be a member of our wellbeing and specialist team, requiring the ability to work collaboratively with other team members.

This part-time contract position is for a Tuesday and will commence on Tuesday 16 July 2024 (negotiable).

The successful applicant will:

  • have a commitment to the philosophy of Catholic education and the safety and wellbeing of all children
  • possess the qualifications, skills and abilities necessary to provide students with a rich and rewarding educational experience
  • have an understanding of an inquiry based approach to teaching and learning, inclusive of student voice and agency
  • build a safe, engaging and inclusive program for all students from Foundation to Year 6.
  • be prepared to be involved in extra curricular school activities
  • hold Victorian Institute of Teaching Registration

In addition, successful applicants will be expected to:

  • Commit to the Catholic Ethos, the principles of Catholic teaching, and living the school’s vision
  • Commit to the Nazareth Child Safe Policy & the Staff Code of Conduct
  • Commit to ongoing professional learning and the continuing development of a positive school culture
  • Have a capacity to promote contemporary and innovative practice
  • Have an ability to communicate positively and effectively with all stakeholders in the school community and have high expectations for all students
  • Gather, analyse and use student data to drive learning and teaching and inform best practice
